Fall in love with this unbe-leaf-ably gorgeous, scientific picture book! Starting in summer and ending in spring, this book introduces readers to the scientific why and how behind leaves trading their summer greens for autumn's riotous colors. Summer Green to Autumn Gold is a well-explained, extremely informative and highly recommended read.
This visual treat, done with collage and watercolor, includes additional science content at the end of the book: "Different Kinds of Leaves" (the difference between deciduous and evergreens); "Pigments in Nature" (It's not just chlorophyll!); "Fall Colors Around the World"; "From Fall to Fall, Colors can Change"; "Glossary"; and "Hands-on Experiments with Leaves and Pigments."

The illustrations in this book are so beautiful! I got it out of the library on your recommendation and it was definitely worth it. I had fun getting to read this book to my little sister--I think she really enjoyed it and engaged with it! (And it's very encouraging to hear her now asking for more books!)
Your blog is such a great resource--thank you for all the work you put into finding these books and reviewing them!
