A Book Review: Food for the Future by Mia Wenjen

Updated: Nov 3

"Our world is changing and farming must too,

With Indigenous ways and modern breakthroughs.'"

Ages: 5 - 8

Grade Level: Preschool - 3

Pages: 40

Food for the Future introduces readers to sustainable farming by showcasing different types of farms around the world. You'll get a glimpse of a food forest in Kenya, a honey farm in Yemen, and a vertical farm in Singapore. Each page identifies the type of farm shown, where it is located, and vocabulary. The rhyming text is super simple and doesn't explain how each farm works. However, the back includes definitions of what sustainable farming and food justice is, additional details about each farm, and a colorful map highlighting where each farm is.
