At the Nerdy Hammy Blog, we feature reviews on books for elementary to middle school children that will educate, entertain, and encourage.
Each selection is evaluated based on the following:
Educate
The learning value.
Entertain
The quality of the material and whether it makes learning fun.
Encourage
There's a lot of material out there that, let's be honest, is not very encouraging or inspiring. We hope to find material that will bless, uplift, and inspire young learners.

Content
Each selection is carefully reviewed, and any content that may be seen as objectionable or sensitive is listed. This allows the parent or educator to choose reading that is appropriate for their child or student.
We believe in the positive power of a good story and hope that your child will be uplifted by these resources.

Meet the Team!
Nadianne
Nadianne is the blog owner, reviewer, lead designer, and video producer of The Nerdy Hammy.
She grew up with her nose in a book and with lots of trips to the local library. As a homeschooled kid, she enjoyed travelling abroad and touring crumbling castles that still echoed long-ago tales. These experiences nurtured a love for learning and an eagerness to share that with others. She struggled, however, to find good and fun educational resources that encouraged a positive mindset and the joy of learning. Many twists and turns later, The Nerdy Hammy was born.
Nadianne has an A.A. in Digital Media and is currently working on a B.A. in history.
Nerdy
Nerdy is the official mascot of The Nerdy Hammy blog! She discovered her love of books as a tiny pup and loves curling up with a good read and a bowl of her favorite treats – sunflower seeds. She can't get enough of them (books and seeds) and loves learning about new things.
Nadya
Nadya is the lead designer and illustrator of M&N Studio. She provides general support and design services for The Nerdy Hammy blog. As a young pup, one of Nadya’s favorite summer pastimes was maxing out her library card and binge reading as many books as she could before school began. You can still find her enjoying a good historical fiction now and then with a hot cuppa tea.
CyberWiz
CyberWiz is the tech wizard providing support services for The Nerdy Hammy website. Most tech issues magically disappear with just a glance from CyberWiz.
